•  Keep your game clean: For pinball machines clean the playfield with a mild cleaner such as 409 and wax the playfield with furniture polish every three to six months. It will protect the paint and make it play better. Tighten any loose screws.

•  Change your batteries: most solid state pinballs use 3 AA batteries in the back to maintain settings and if they leak it will cause expensive damage. Do this every three years with the power on to keep your settings and scores.

•  Keep your records and CD’s clean to prevent needle damage and CD skipping.

•  Keep your game off when you are not playing it, except slot machines. It will add years to the life of your game.

•  Play it! Pinballs, jukeboxes, slot machines, etc. have moving parts that need to be moved to keep the lubrication from drying out.

•  Keep it warm! If your game is in an unheated area, paint can peel off, parts rust and your game will loose value.

•  If you hear loud buzzing or smell something burning, turn the game off immediately. If you replace a fuse, be sure to use the right size and type. Do not keep replacing fuses, there is something wrong and you will make it worse.

•  Let it breathe! Video games and jukeboxes have air vents that need periodic cleaning so they don’t overheat. Some video games also have cooling fans (particularly cocktail style and counter top) that must be cleaned and working.
